Gospel Art for the Modern Home

My goal with Radiant Pursuit Art is to not just create gospel art but to create gospel art that is made with modern home design and decor in mind. When I was growing up it seemed like a lot of homes had a lot of stuff—nicknacks and trinkets and shelves full of little things. The older I get the more I want my living space to be as simple as it can be. Maybe it’s because of the busy schedules or the noise of social media, but for me at least, I look for simplicity in my home. I don’t always have it because with four kids running around it’s easy to get piled up in “stuff”. The goal of a clean simple home is there though and I want to create the type of art that fits in with that type of home.

This is why an abstract painting is my favorite kind. It is intriguing and interesting because the story of a painting isn’t clearly laid out. In a way, leaving something to the imagination leaves more room for interpretation. It’s kind of like going to a play vs. seeing a movie—at a play, the audience is given enough information through set design and story telling that they are able to fill in the gaps and imagine the world being created on stage; in a movie, the audience is given the complete scene. I’m not saying plays are better than movies (I probably prefer movies) but, like a play, when viewing abstract art, the viewer is required to fill in the gaps. People can imagine what they want to imagine.

I also just love abstract art purely for its’ aesthetics—it looks beautiful in a home. I love a minimalist look—it’s clean and uncluttered; it’s calming and understated. To me, that is beautiful. It’s the type of art I want in my home and hopefully what, at least some, other people want too.
