Why I’m All in as a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

I used to be very quiet about my religious beliefs—I didn’t want to offend anyone or have anyone think I was pushing my beliefs on them; that would be rude. I also didn’t want any of my friends to think I was judging them for believing differently than I do (I don’t). Being so quiet isn’t really necessary though and here’s why: first, if anyone doesn’t want to hear about what I believe, they simply don’t have to; they can literally exit this page and go read something else, there are literally millions of options; second, I want to connect with people who have similar beliefs as me and it would be much more difficult to do that if I’m not open and honest about what I believe; third, and maybe most importantly, I want to. There is no other subject I am more passionate about. I love talking about the gospel subjects because it makes me happy and gives me peace.

So, to the point, here’s why I’m all in as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints:

  • Truth is truth; it is unchanging and incontrovertible. Once you know something is true it’s difficult to deny it (and why would you want to).

  • Studying the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace.

  • Reading the Book of Mormon has been the source of answering many of my prayers.

  • Going to church, saying prayers, reading scripture, participating in church service, and going to the temple bring me closer to Jesus Christ and help me have an eternal perspective.

  • Life can be very challenging at times, and God can help me endure any obstacle I am facing.

I’m sure there is more that could be added but this is what I could think of right now.
