Why I’m All in as a Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
I used to be very quiet about my religious beliefs—I didn’t want to offend anyone or have anyone think I was pushing my beliefs on them; that would be rude. I also didn’t want any of my friends to think I was judging them for believing differently than I do (I don’t). Being so quiet isn’t really necessary though and here’s why: first, if anyone doesn’t want to hear about what I believe, they simply don’t have to; they can literally exit this page and go read something else, there are literally millions of options; second, I want to connect with people who have similar beliefs as me and it would be much more difficult to do that if I’m not open and honest about what I believe; third, and maybe most importantly, I want to. There is no other subject I am more passionate about. I love talking about the gospel subjects because it makes me happy and gives me peace.
So, to the point, here’s why I’m all in as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints:
Truth is truth; it is unchanging and incontrovertible. Once you know something is true it’s difficult to deny it (and why would you want to).
Studying the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace.
Reading the Book of Mormon has been the source of answering many of my prayers.
Going to church, saying prayers, reading scripture, participating in church service, and going to the temple bring me closer to Jesus Christ and help me have an eternal perspective.
Life can be very challenging at times, and God can help me endure any obstacle I am facing.
I’m sure there is more that could be added but this is what I could think of right now.
